4′ Wide x 1/4″ Thick 10% Colored Reclaimed Rubber Rolls For Weight Lifting – Our rolled rubber gym flooring contains reclaimed rubber, or crumb rubber, processed from used car and truck tires, and is one of the most resilient forms of rubber there is. When protecting gym floors from the shock and impact that comes from weightlifting, recycled rubber is a natural fit.
4′ x 1/4″ Colored Rolls include 10% EPDM color flecks of your choice including blue, red, blue/gray, green, grey and cocoa/eggshell (or “mocha mix”). EPDM, or ethylene propylene diene monomer, is an extremely durable solid color synthetic rubber that is chipped into the size of recycled crumb rubber. The crumb rubber, EPDM and urethane bonding agent is then mixed together inside a large cylinder. Once this mixture dries into a log of rubber, the cylinder is then removed so that the log can be peeled by a large knife into long rolls of gym flooring.
What is the best rubber flooring thickness for home gyms and training studios? – A 1/4″ thickness is usually sufficient for home gyms and small training studios. It can withstand minimal impact from lighter dumbbells and barbells and works well underneath weight stack machines and plate loaded exercise equipment. When installing, it can be adhered to a wood or concrete sub-floors using double sided sticky tape or a more permanent method using a liquid urethane adhesive that is applied to the sub-floor using a trowel.
